ESR (Sed Rate)

The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), also known as the sed rate, is a blood test that indirectly measures the level of inflammation in the body. It does this by measuring how quickly red blood cells settle to the bottom of a test tube. Faster settling rates indicate higher levels of inflammation.
