PET Scan
PET/CT scan, also called positron emission tomography, is an imaging procedure that combines two methods (positron emission tomography and computed tomography) to take pictures of large parts of the body: the brain, the chest, or the entire body. These images give a very detailed view of the body part that they scan and allow the doctor to more accurately find abnormalities. This PET covers the use of the radiopharmaceutical fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) only.
