Ultrasound
A ultrasound scan, also called sonography or diagnostic medical sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within the body. The images can provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions.
Most ultrasound examinations are done using an ultrasound device outside the body, though some involve placing a device inside the body. Examination is for any one body part and includes the following:
- abdomen
- aorta
- chest
- elastography
- extremity non-vascular
- joint/soft tissue
- kidney
- Liver
- neck
- pelvic
- renal & bladder
- testicular (scrotum)
- thyroid
- transvaginal & ob
If you need more than one body part scanned, you will need to purchase one ultrasound for each.
