I’m probably not your typical therapist. I’m a survivor of many things. I’m transparent and a little unorthodox at times. You will never wonder if you are sitting with a real person. I am down-to-earth with a pretty good sense of humor. I am a psychotherapist (LCSW) based in VA and licensed in VA, KY, DC, OR, MA, MI, IL, RI, and working on others, whose goal is to help people uncover their true potential and move forward with confidence toward all their goals. I am an eclectic therapist, with further training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Therapy, Trauma Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have certifications in tele-therapy, Personality Disorder Specialist, Trauma Therapist, PTSD Therapist, Mood Disorders Therapist, Sexual Treatment Professional and others.
I’m analytical, solution-focused, and research-oriented. I am experienced with older adolescents, adults, and couples. I primarily work with adult women and men, first responders, emergency professionals, teachers, therapists, clergy, and other helping professionals. I specialize in working with individuals and couples focusing on the treatment of narcissistic abuse, anxiety, depression, PTSD (trauma), grief/loss, borderline personality struggles, marriage or interpersonal relationship problems, addictions (any/all) struggles, shame/guilt, boundary development, daily life pressure/problems, peer pressure, bullying, mood disorders, domestic violence, low self-esteem, people pleasing or anyone in need of new ways to cope with life’s everyday challenges.
