A laryngoscopy procedure with excision of tumor and/or stripping of vocal cords or epiglottis, is a surgical procedure to look at the larynx (voice box), including the vocal cords and nearby structures like the back of the throat. During the procedure, a small camera is placed down the throat to reach the vocal cords. The doctor then cut, trim, or remove a mass of tissue on the vocal cords - or the top of the esophagus.
