An osteotomy of fifth metatarsal is a surgical procedure to treat a bunionette, also known as a tailor's bunion - which is a bony bump that forms near the pinky toe joint on the outside of the foot that causes pain and/or pressure. During this procedure an osteotomy is performed to remove part of the fifth metatarsal (the bone in the foot connected to the pinky toe), to relieve pressure.
