Shoulder Instability Surgery in Kansas

A shoulder instability surgery is a surgical procedure offered to patients with repeated dislocations to repair torn or stretched ligaments. After the procedure, the ligaments are better able to hold the shoulder joint in place. Some patients may need an open surgical procedure that involves making an incision over the shoulder and performing the repair under direct visualization. Surgery is recommended only if shoulder instability persists after nonsurgical treatments, such as rest, ice and physical therapy, have failed.
